Computerized Injections
Local anesthetic injection is the most fear-inducing part of dental treatment for some. It's substantially more comfortable with the help of a computerized pump that makes the injection extremely smooth, precise and gentle. The Wand machine is particularly helpful in sensitive areas, and allows several special techniques, including one that can can numb teeth without affecting the surrounding lips and tongue.
Digital X-Ray
Digital x-rays have numerous advantages over film. They are faster, better for the environment (no more chemicals) and allow a lower X-ray dose to the patients. (Although we hasten to add that modern X-ray film exposures are extremely small - many times less than typical medical x-rays).
IsoLite
Unique Patented Mouthpiece Creates a Wide Open, Well Lit Field
The unique, patented Isolite mouthpiece is the heart of the Isolite system. The soft, flexible, non- impinging Isolite mouthpiece.
Easy-to-insert, and comfortable for the patient, the Isolite mouthpiece can be inserted in only a seconds and removed even more quickly Economical, disposable mouthpieces mean no risk of patient cross contamination
Air Abrasion
The dental "drill" isn't going away anytime soon, but air abrasion technology offers a much more pleasant alternative for many areas of decay. The device uses a stream of air and fine particles to remove decay, in a sort of miniaturized "sandblasting" process. It's quiet, and relatively painless- many small cavities can be treated without anesthetic.
Laser Diagnosis of Decay
Diagnostic laser technology penetrates the enamel surface and detects decay hidden beneath the surface. The machine dramatically increases our accuracy, helps distinguish between true decay and staining, and allows us to catch and repair small cavities before they become larger fillings.
Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Nitrous Oxide isn't really new technology - Dentistry has used it for over a hundred years But it's finding increased usefulness in places like hospital delivery rooms. It's safe - a registered nurse can be trained to deliver it, and almost anyone can use it. It's relatively inexpensive, and it relaxes and controls anxiety remarkably well while leaving patients still awake. It's easily adjustable throughout an appointment, and does not leave patients feeling sedated afterward.
The pain suppression of nitrous oxide is modest. It doesn't replace local anesthesia in permanent teeth. However routine filling in baby teeth can almost always be done with just gas, in complete comfort.
Treatment without needles is a big plus for children.

ViziLite Plus
Oral cancer screening is key. Early detection with Vizilite Plus makes it simple.
Oral cancer is one of the most curable diseases when it's caught early.
That's why your dentist performs an annual ViziLite Plus exam, in combination with a conventional visual examination. ViziLite Plus uses technology that has been proven successful in identifying precancerous and cancerous abnormalities.
ViziLite Plus helps your dentist identify oral lesions at their earliest stage of development. When premalignant lesions or early state oral cancer is found, treatment is simpler, less invasive and more than 90% successful.
Are you at risk for oral cancer? Virtually everyone is.
Increased Risk
Patients age 18-39 without lifestyle risk factors
Sexually active (HPV 16/18)
High Risk
Patients age 40 and older without lifestyle risk factors
Tobacco users (any age, any type)
Highest Risk
Patients age 40 and older with lifestyle risk factors (tobacco use/alcohol consumption)
Patients with history of oral cancer
One American dies every hour from oral cancer.
The American Cancer Society estimates a 5.5% increase in new cases of oral cancer and a 1.5% increase in deaths associate with oral cancer.
And if you think you aren't at risk for oral cancer, think again: 25% of oral cancers occur in people who don't smoke and have no other lifestyle risk factors. Virtually everyone is at risk for oral cancer, including you. That's why your dentist recommends a simple, potentially lifesaving screening exam: an annual ViziLite Plus exam.
If you're sexually active, here's another reason to think about oral cancer.
The human papilloma virus (HPV) is an extremely common sexually transmitted infection and especially prevalent in young adults. Few people even know they have it. HPV has long been known to cause cervical cancer and now studies suggest it also plays a role in more than 20% of oral cancer cases.
Your dentist recommends annual ViziLite Plus exams.
